NDDOT Seeking Bids for Bridge Project Near Williston, ND

The North Dakota Department of Transportation (NDDOT) is planning to replace the Lewis & Clark Bridge located on US Highway 85 over the Missouri River near Williston, North Dakota. The Lewis & Clark Bridge will be replaced by a new 4-lane bridge to the west of the existing structure. The proposed bridge will be constructed 85 feet wide and 1,520 feet long with a steel plate girder superstructure with seven girder lines.

The scheduled bid opening date is July 18, 2014. A pre-bid meeting for interested prime contractors will be held Tuesday, July 1, 2014. Time: 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the Hampton Inn & Suites, 1515 14th Street West, Williston, ND. The agenda includes a description of the proposed project, project schedule, environmental permits and roadway improvements. The project will be construction in an environmentally sensitive area. As such, numerous environmental commitments and permits apply. Attendance at the pre-bid meeting is highly recommended for contractors to gain an understanding of the project. Please contact the Project Manager indicating the number of people from your organization who will be in attendance. Note that local accommodations in the “Bakken Formation/Oil Patch” can be limited.
